Lift Kits

How many of you installed your suspension/ body kits? I am trying to get some opinions on installing them. If you did install yours, what is your opinion on it, was it worth doing it yourself? Also, how long did it take and what kind of mechanic skills do you have?

Sorry for all the ?'s.

06STX4X4, I installed my suspension lift with the help of my son. My suspension is a SuperLift 4.5" with a rear 1.5" add-a-leaf. My truck is an 06 Supercrew Lariat 4X4. The Superlift kit is a complete bolt-on kit. And it took us 8 hours over a two day period. The instructions were concise and the installation went very smooth. I did take the truck to FORD dealership for front end alignment afterwards. My truck rides geat. NO steering wheel shimmy. I would recommend that you go to Superlift.com and view the video on the suspension installation. The kit is called Frame Integration Technology(FIT) and is a robust design. I did research on this site as well as others relating to my suspension choice. I just did not want a 6-8" lift. I just wanted a milder lift without using the leveling kits.. that some people say place critical angles on your suspension components. My truck had 441 miles on it when I ripped it apart. My wife went beserk ... She just knew I was gonna HOSE something up. I used common tools, floor jack and purchased a torque wrench for the project. Oh yes and jack stands are a must. It was a nice father son project.... BoB

I installed my body lift in one weekend. I'd say I have average mechanical skills at best.
