I have an 01 and I changed mine out. You don't have to change out the whole lower control arm. I don't know what manual you read but, don't worry...just go to Autozone and but the ball joints....easy job.

Ditto. LCA is just the joint, UCA is the whole arm. My only guess as to why they recommend the whole LCA is so that the LCA bushings also get replaced. Personally, unless the LCA bushings are showing signs of their age, I just replace the joint.

brand of ball joints

I am considering changing my ball joints.

I have seen ball joints for about $25 and some for $50.

Is there any benfit to the $50 ball joints?
