Taking off 6" sus lift...

Before i put a 6" suspension lift on i thought i should ask. when putting the lift on ive seen where you have to cut the frame. Would this ruin the truck from ever being taken back down to stock. Is this even true about having to cut the frame? thanks for the info fellas!

you are probably reffering to how you have to cut the weld points for the hanger bolts. And no wont effect frame life or anything unless you heat the frame up enough that it weakens its strength.

take it from a welder nether cuting the frame with a torch or a weld will weakin you frame to the point of ruining the life of the truck

ok lets clear this up for u. what u are cutting is the tabs were the factory front crossmember bolts in so that your differential can lower and bolt to your new front crossmember included in the lift. down the road if u want to put it back to stock it is not as easy as bolting it back in. save the peices u cut out and make clean cutls. down the road these will nees to be welded in again if u want to return to stock. but u are not cutting the frame u were mis understood.

One of the lifts supposedly does not require you to cut the crossmember tabs. I can't remember if it was the RIZE or RCD lift but maybe one of them.

Actually, Welding a frame will greatly weaken it in the case of a collision. that is why most all of the parts are riveted or bolted on. Look at a semi frame, the entire back half is bolted together. But for your lift, you should have either very little or no welding, so your good!
