ride of a 3" body lift

ive been thinking about putting a 3" body lift on my truck... but people have been telling me that my ride will be out of control.. by that i mean that my body will sway alot on turns and such... i just want to know if this is true and if it is... is it really bad to where it will be uncomfortable...

yeah, it can happen. You're putting weight higher, which means a higher center of gravity. That will mean more swing. Sometimes, stiffening up while lifting can help, or you can use stabilizer bars.

I had a 2" BL on top of my 6" suspen on my '03 and it didnt feel "uncomfortable". With any lift your going to get a diff feel being higher.

Not true. You will have more sway simply because your truck is higher AS WITH ANY LIFT YOU INSTALL! =)

I had a body lift on my 2002 Sport Trac w/ 33" and it drove JUST like factory, which is Cadillac smooth! It did not have any suspension lift.

I will have a 3" body lift done on my F150 SuperCrew and no suspension lift. The suspension lifts almost always change the ride quality b/c of different spring rates and shocks etc.

I need a truck that can cruise at 95-105MPH for work (security). This is the only option for me. I had the 2" front leveling kit and it made the truck unstable. The steering felt lose and I would get bump steer.

theres not too much body roll on just a 3" body lift

i had one on mine for about 5 months and it wasnt bad at all, just make sure that if u get it done, take it easy when u get it so u can get used to the body roll.

I agree. I've never noticed a difference in body roll with any body lifted truck I've had.
I guess the best way to define body roll is the tendancy of a vehicle to follow or roll into a turn.

You mean the truck will actually roll over?

Or just feel like it's going to?

No, we just mean the feeling of being top heavy. Sort of like your truck feels less stable going around a turn than a Mustang GT. The taller the vehicle, the more top heavy it feels. That's just a law of physics.

The degree of lean your vehicle experiences in a turn. i.e. my ex GF's cavalie would fee llike it was about to roll over in turns at moderate speed. My Saturn OTOH just stuck to the road and kept on truckin, err going.

Cavalier is junk, I had one for a year and problems after problems, like most of chevy cars. Anyway, one way to solve the problem for body roll would be stiffer suspension. In general, the higher you go the worst it gets but hey that is the price to pay to get a truck looking good

Also, you will feel like that because you are taking turns faster if you don't adjust the speedometer.. 5mph difference.

5k miles and never been happier with it. Rides and feels like stock...in my opinion!

FYI...2006 3 inch PA Body Kit isn't out yet. I had 2004-2005 kit installed and had to fabricate rear bumper brackets. I have the template if you decide to do it. PA said they expect the kit to be out in a couple of months.

Good Luck!
