2" leveling spacers

Sorry, I'm sure this has been covered...still trying to find my way around here. I own a 06 F-150 SC FX4. This is mine and my my wifes' primary vehicle and she doesn't want a body lift or suspension lift on it. I talked her into a leveling lift. I notice the front sits lower than the rear and makes it look bad in my opinion. I've been told it's done like this to compensate for pulling a trailor. Question is....What do you guys think of the kits? Are they hard to install with help? Aluminum or steel? Is there any negative affects after install over a period of time for those whom have them? Thanks

I tried the link with out success. I did do a search and found something about the leveling kit prematurely wearing out ball joints. I will only install a leveling kit but not if it will cost me in the long run. Just looking for a way to pick up the front end for now.

Thanks Stealth, I have been reading back through the some previous threads and it looks like the leveling spacers might not have caused the ball joints to go bad, but might have contributed to it. Also I have not see other members with very many miles on there truck after installing these. My bet is there was probably some pretty heavy off roading while these were on and they are was is blamed. I don't plan on doing any off roading unless it's call for and mainly just highway driving. I would very much like to skip the leveing kit and go with a 3" body lift and tires, but the wifey won't go for it now. Maybe in a few years but these trucks look bad a** with a lift and tires. Any other suggestions or convincing me to go ahead and get the leveling kit....are welcome.

Thanks again Stealth,

I have not been on here much except to gather info when needed but I believe that I can give a little this time.

I installed a 2" leveling kit on my 04' (new body style) within the first 100 miles that I got it. I now have 47K on it and 2 yrs of service. This consists of absolutley no hard off roading and probably 80% highway commuting. It is a 2wd supercab Lariet 5.4L. I now have a ball joint out on my left upper control arm. That is actually why I am on here. I was wondering if I should replace both at the same time......

Hope that I helped a little.
