Body lift pros/ cons

I saw my truck parked next to a similar one at work and it looked cool. He must have a 3" body lift and the 315/70/17's looked to be the right size. What would you say are pros and cons of doing the body lift? I love the look, but if it isn't worth it than forget about it. Even so, it would be a while before it's in the works. What are things involved with this kit?

A body lift is basically a set of spacers that lifts the body off the frame 2 or 3 inches. There is a little more involved, such as lifting the bumper's, steering extension, etc., but all of these little things are addressed in the Performance Accessories body lifts. The pros are they are inexpensive and don't affect your ride or warranty. The only con I can think of is you are limited to 3 inches of lift.

That's all I would want, like I said, this other truck looked good, and I figured 3" from pics and looking at where the tow hooks sit. I was just curious, because we had a 4" on our Jeep, and the tranny was never right after.

another con is that usually u can see the frame and everything else under the truck when u do this and the exaust tailpipe needs to be redone to look decent.

Body lifts are very limited. They do tend to introduce more body roll. and do not ehance the suspension at all. They also expose chasis components and overall detract from the lines of your truck. They will however allow more clearance for larger tires. If you are going to modify the truck look into a MILD suspension upgrade or comdine BL with suspension mod. I guess either way you are HAVING fun with you vehicle and making it a ONE-Of-A-KIND ride that pleases you. Good Luck! BoB

Every truck is different, but the 97-03 F-150's work great with body lifts. As for increased body roll, I have never noticed an increase on mine, or my two previous trucks.
