Converting from airbags to Coils

I have a 1998 EB Expedition 4x4 and for the last 3 weeks I have been through hell trying to narrow down my problem with my air ride suspension. My rear end was sitting on the frame while the front was at a normal height. Compressor stopped working so I replaced it and now the front raises up more but my rear bags are still screwed up. It's as if the compressor isn't putting out enough air for them to hold. I got an air hose and manually aired them up and disconnected the solenoid so right now I'm straight.

I'm about to say screw all of this and replace the rear with coils. I have been wanting to put a lift on but I dont want to spend a couple grand in doing so. Do any of you recomend any particular coils and shock absorbers to replace the bags, and that might would give it a slight lift? I am going to keep air to the front right now and see how it does. I am thinking of putting on a PA 3" body.
I ideally want to run 33's but I would settle with 285/295's. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you are planning on running BFG All Terrains 285's are essentially 33's (*they are actually 32.8")

yeah , that seems like the common since thing to do but I just bought a compressor and I don't want anymore air susp problems in the future. I wasn't aware that they made different size compressors for my model truck.
