Installing shocks

:Can you change all 4 shocks on a 2001 4x4 f150, without removing the wheels? ive read several posts where they were removed for convenience.

Yes, I didn't remove my wheels. I did turn the front wheels to full steering lock for clearance.

How long do the stock shocks last on average? Im getting ready to put on new wheels and tires on and I thought about putting a set of Bilsteins on while I was at it....my truck has 48,975 miles on it. Thanks.
