What happened to Bigtruck311??
What happened to Bigtruck311??
so where did he go? ok well heres the question ive been trying to get him to answer beacuse he is running almost exaclty what i want to do. maybe someone else can help me out. i have a 6in fabtech lift with 315/75R16 right now but am going to put on a PA 3in body lift and hopefully 38s. bigtruck managed to do this with the above lift and cranking the torsion bars a little and adding an add-a-leaf. he has 38x15.50R16, same size i want to run only instead of the baja claws want the nitto mud grapplers. i went to 4wheelparts the other day and they said there is no way i will be able to fit those tires with out trimming the crap out of my fender because they are so blocky!? is this true? it got me scratching my head. both websites show the same specs on the tires sizes. wandell? anyone?
im sorry i didnt make that clear. he also had the 3in body lift. Johngs how do you like your xcal2? how much better is it than the 1715 super chips microtuner, i cant really see spending an extra $100 on a tuner if i dont have to
I don't know where he's at, but he is missed here. A couple of members at FTW are also running 38x15.50's with 9 inches of lift. I know two members (Kenny and Z7What) running that combo with Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips. I know one says he has some rubbing.
I love it. I never used to the 1715 so I cant really compare them...but the 1715 uses generic tunes and the XCal 2 has 3 custom tunes, so if theres something that you are specifically looking for, or you have a special setup, then you want the XCal 2.
You can call them and talk to them and they can explain the differences and make a suggestion on what would work best for you.
As for my results, is it a whole lot faster? No, not really...but it drives alot better, shifts better, etc. Throttle response is alot better. When traveling down a 2 lane road, it accelerates to pass a lot quicker. On the highway Ive seen about a 1-2MPG increase in gas mileage now that summer has come. I didnt see much of a mileage increase over the winter, the fact that I drive less than 5 miles each way to school every day really doesnt help gas mileage at all
Also over the winter I found myself getting on the throttle alot, so that didnt help either
It was completely worth it for me.

I am running 38" Super Swampers, never touched the torsion bars but have a 6" Fabtech lift, 3" body lift and add a leaf in the rear. Had to trim the fender plastic slightly and cut the front valance, nothing major.
