Bent Frame Question
Bent Frame Question
My 1997 Ford F-150 2WD suffered a left lower ball joint seperation at about 15 MPH in a turn. The vehicle struck a concrete post. I had to replace the ball joint, caliper bracket, spindle and bearings and races, upper control arm, steering tie rod and adjuster, and the stabilizer bar link. Left front fender also but that is cosmetic!
I replaced all parts just to get it up on all fours and the steering wheel only turns 1.5 turns to the right and 2.5 tuns to the left. When the steering wheel is centered the left tire/wheel are pointing straight ahead but the right tire/wheel points outside a few degrees!
The frame is kinked about 9 inches behind the upper control arm mounts and both left upper control arm mounts are bent back slightly.
I have never had to get any sort of frame straightening done and wonder if any of you F-150 enthusiasts have any idea how much the frame wll cost to be repaired.
I can email an UGLY picture if you'd like.
