Ground Clearance Measurement Needed!

I was just curious as to how much ground clearance is below the stock Step Bars (Nerf Bars) like the ones in the picture link below?

I am thinking of adding them to my 1999 4x2 but was curious as to how low they would hang down from the body and how much space is between them and the ground on a 4x4 or 4x2.

Nerf Bars Like These in Pic

Thank you.

Please help me out here. I have a chance to get a set of these but I am worried that they will hang too low when installed on my 4x2.

Thanks.

Well unless you go offroad, they dont hang down low enough to cause clearance problems. There would be other things closer to the ground than the step bars.

I have the chrome Ford step bars (oval shaped), and they hang down maybe 6 inches or so below the bottom of the body. You can see some pics in my gallery (closer than that pic you listed)

If you squat down and look under your truck, your frame hangs down a few inches, and I don't think that the side steps will hang down any lower than your frame, so you don't have anything to worry about.
