Lowering a 4x4

Forgive me if this has been asked or posted before, I'm NEW !

I just lease a 2006 F-150 S/C 4x4 XLT and I put some 22" on it. The wheel gap is huge! I have 305-45-22 Toyo Prox's. I'd like to bring it down some.

Anyone lower a 4x4 yet? Best kit? Ease of install? Cost?

BTW I leased a 4x4 becasue the program was too good to pass up. The 4x2 was 30.00 more a month.

I'm not sure who makes the best kit, but I agree. Your truck will look a lot better lowered.

Kit

Beltech. Good luck lowering the 4x4. You wont be able to slam it, but you will be able to get rid of that excessive gap you don't like.

Truck looks good BTW.

If you're going to lower it, see if anyone makes a limited slip or locker (or even an air locker) that can be put between your transfer case and front drive shaft so you have the option of AWD for really hauling butt. I'm assuming you're not going to be doing any strenuous off-roading so true 4x4 won't be necessary.

Nope. Not at all. If the 4x2 would have been cheaper or even the same price I'd be driving one of those. I out grew getting muddy, stuck or broken back in high school. I'm not knocking it, but it's just not my thing.
