rear block question?

is it absolutely necessary to remove the rear shocks to install the 2 inch rear blocks? also what is the best tool to get the nut off of the u-bolt. the u bolt comes up pretty far and i can not find a deep enough socket to get it off. ive even tried just using a simple cresent wrench with some wd40 and its not working. any help would be greatfull. thanks

Jay

darkblue, try a 1/2" drive breaker bar with deep sockets, they're tight the first couple turns then loosen up a little. definately replace the shocks, I didn't at first and they top out (clank) over bumps and when cornering
