Bad back shock??

I just noticed that my 04 Screw looked uneven from the back. I measured and the right side was 9" from the 35" BFG and the left side was 7.5" from the tire. All I have done to the truck is installed a 2.5" autospring. Do you think it is the rear shock. When I looked at the top of the shock on the left it was about even with the tire and the right side the top of the shock was about 2" higher than the tire. I am going to get a 4" Rancho lift with 9000 shocks this week. Should I bring it into the dealer and get them to check it out or do you think the problem will be fixed with the new lift.

Thanks for the help.

I would have it checked out. Shocks don't hold weight, they just provide damping. Otherwise, a truck with just springs would bounce a lot after hitting a bump. I don't know, it could be a leaf spring or the frame could be crooked, but I'd bet money it's not the shock...

I think you are right. I measered from the bumpstop to the axle and there was about 1.5" difference.

Reference

Reference my other post. Yes my '97 sits lower on one side than the other. Shocks will not effect this. I did replace both spring packs and lowered it and yet the left rear still sits about 1/4-1/2" lower than the right. I just gave up on finding the problem. Maybe date a fat chick?? that will level it out.
