I installed one of these kits this weekend and everytime I take a look at the ball joint on the upper arm, it bothers me......Anyone know if a 2" extension can be machined so that can be screwd on to the end of the bolt??

Possibly run it through a collar ......

This would bring back the angle to where it should be and relieve the stress that is being put on that ball joint.

Just a thought........

Hello, YaMon. This has been discussed several times and has been a concern by many who have installed leveling kits. Some have removed the kits because they felt uncomfortable with the angle and had cosmetic and "clunk" noises when offroading heavily. Also due to the angles created causes some premature wear of front components. There is one company that does make an upper control arm replacement . Here

I have the 2.5" leveling kit from autospring for the last 6000 miles and no problems. Yes it is close, but it has been discussed as a cosmetic issue and not a safety issue. I have had no problems with them. They don't LOOK pretty but have done the job well. good luck. Hope the link helps.

I was thinking of a simpler ans less expensive alternative.

I never heard of trying something like that. If you could design something you could make some money off it for sure.
