Question !!!Axle Swap!!!

I was wondering if anyone would know, or have done a soild axle swap in to a early 90s f150 4x4, i wana go with a dana 44, outa a 79 half ton, to gain strength for bigger tires and abuse of offroad, i have a 94 i think it comes with what i think is a dana 44 TTB, Twin I beam setup i guess im not postive, i just wana know how much work it would be to swap over to a solid axle and is it worth it....

would love to hear your guys thoughts, ive heard lots of ups and lots of downs, on the swap... i priced a install at a truck shop locally they said around a couple grand, which i think is BULL and should not cost that much at all no where near it....both are coil springs it kinda seems easy to me, but i know im guessin wrong....

It won't be too bad but you'll need to build a trackbar to position the axle side to side. Search the Bronco forums or on Pavementsucks.com and you'll find other people's swaps.

Oh, and if you plan on wheeling this truck with anything bigger than 35's then you may want to look at a Dana 60 over a Dana 44. For weekend adventures or mud riding a dana 44 should hold up.
