BDS Suspension

I was wondering if anyone knows if the 6" BDS for 97-03 F150 4x4 is a good lift or not. Will a suspension lift work well with a 3" body lift? What size tires will fit and what gears will I need? Thanks

BDS products have always gotten good reviews. I'm not familar with their lift for our trucks. It should work with a body lift. Do you already have a body lift? I'd suggest runing 35's with 6 inches of lift and 37's or 38's with 9 inches of lift.

I have tightened my torsion bars to raise it 1", and was thinking of getting a body lift within the next couple of weeks. If I just go with a body lift and leave the suspension alone for now would a 35 / 13.50 / 16 fit?

Probably, but it would be tight. A 35x12.50-16 on a 16x10 inch wheel is a tight fit and requires minor trimming of the front bumper's lower valance.

About 75,000 miles ago, I put the 3" PA body lift on my 97 Lariat, Supercab, long bed and put the 36" x 12.5" Kelley AT's on 16" x 10" AR rims.

I love the look and I get a lot of compliments but, I have had to trim the lower panel on the front bumper and when I travel off-road or I am turning into a ramped parking lot quickly, I get that annoying rub on my front fenders. Many people assured me that it wouldn't happen but even after torquing the stabilizer bars an inch or so, they still rub once in a while.

The supercab with the long bed, in my opinion, has a passive look until you set it up there a bit and put some beefy tires on it. I am currently researching suspension lifts to resolve the issue.

In my opinion, if you can satisfy your desires with 33" tires, you'll probably be a bit more happy than if you go to the 36".

What kind of backspacing do you have, and would a 35 in your opion scrub as bad? How well does your truck perform offroad with the bodylift?
