4x4/4x2 lift question

dont know if this a stupid question....but since the stock 05 f150 4x4 sits higher then the stock 4x2....if you where to lift both trucks with the fabtech 6'' lift would the 4x4 sit higher then the 4x2 or would they sit the same since your changing it out with a new coilover kit..

hmm good question. I know that the 4x4s have a 2 inch block in the rear and if u replace that with the block you use on a new suspension lift than it should be the same that you put on the 4x2 so they would be the same height.

idk i think , anyone else know?>

not sure about the newer models, but i know that when i lifted mine, 4x4 98 model, it sat higher then a 4x2 truck of the same year, in fact i think the 7-1/2 inch lift by fabtech on the 4x2 was still alittle shorter then my 6", but the suspension is completely different now, so this doesnt matter. lol

Yes, if you installed a 6 inch Fabtech on a 4x4 and a 4x2, the 4x4 would still be about 2 inches taller than the 4x2.

wandell, i was thinking about putting a body lift on my 05 screw but have been told that it will make my truck ride ruffer and im better of going with a suspension lift. When you had yours put on did you notice a change in the ride?

That is the biggest advantage of a body lift. The ride is not affected.
Also, a 6 inch lift is gonna lift a 4x2 6 inches. A 6 inch lift is also gonna lift a 4x4 6 inches. If one truck is 2 inches taller than the other to begin with, it's gonna be 2 inches taller afterwards. Think about it this way. If you are 2 inches taller than me, and we both stand on a 6 inch step, you are still 2 inches taller.
