Battle of the Lifts

I own a 2005 Ford F-150 crew-cab 4wd and am planning on lifting it in a month or two. I have narrowed it down to a few of the lwoer priced kits. Fabtech 6 inch performance, Full-Traction 6 inch, Tuff Country 6 inch, Pro Comp 6 inch, and Doetsch 6 inch. If i get the tuff country one im going to buy probably some bilstein 5150 shocks for front and rear or Rancho rs9000x with in cab controller. I think ive basically ruled out the pro comp kit.

Rancho( due to skid plate option and no problems that I have heard or read of. Lift comes out to 5-5.5" from what I have read)

Skyjacker( due to skid plate option and no problems that I have read of, they also come with replacement front springs.)

Fabtech( no skid plate, you'll need different shocks because many consider them too soft. Your front wheels will stick out an inch on each side, you'll need to modify and rebalance your front driveshaft due to vibration on 4HI, But they do offer adjustable dirt logic coilovers for about 750.00 more.)

They are All good lifts. and are very popular by many for different reasons. Depends what you want from it. Also I think problems with some kits may not be the kit itself but due to poor installation. Good luck.

yes that is very true!!

most of these kits have all the bugs worked out of them, and when one kit has something go rong with it, its probably the installation.
