Smile Which shocks?

Ok, I searched/read all the shock questions I could find. Sorry if this is a repeat.

2000 F150. 4wd. 80K

As you can guess my factory shocks are wasted. I don't drive this truck all that much anymore, but when I do drive it, it's usually to pull the boat, or haulin this or that. Sometimes used as a 2nd vehicle, but with gas prices we've basiclly parked the truck and car pool (gotta save gas money for the boat )

What would be a good shock? I'm not looking for the smoothest ride, but I'm not wanting to go baja'n either. I'd like to spend under $200 if possible. Would the Rancho RSX be a good choice? Also anybody know any good places online to purchase?

Thanks for your help.

The Rancho's or Bilstiens would be a good choice.

The RSX is a good all-around shock. I think you'd be good to go with that.

get 'em here

that's about the best deal you're going to find on the RSX's. they're a quality shock, too. i put em on this spring and it takes awhile to get used to the ride change from stock to these, but you definately feel a ton of improvement in handling and road feel

I'm just wondering if he asked for a smooth ride why everyone is recommending hard, large piston shocks?

Doesn't this give a harsher more violent ride?

Thanks guys, sounds like the RSX is the way to go.

I'll be back shorty with some MOD questions. Now that this thing is paid off I can finally get some stuff done to it. After the shocks Its gonna be new Power lock actuators, new lower ball joints, and then fix my ABS (module's bad )

After that I'm planning on giving her a little shot in the arm. Gonna be looking for advice on some motor bolt ons to give it a little more power.

Thanks again

Re-read what he said:
