Hey Folks, just got myself a 2005 FX4, and I am wondering what shocks come with the FX4 (is it factory or Rancho?). Thanks folks.

 

Well, the answer is yes. When Ford introduced the FX-4 package they had Tenneco Automotive (the parant company of Rancho) make them a Rancho shock for the package. It had the same valving as the shocks they always used with the towing and off road package. They were just painted white and had the Rancho sticker. They were a Rancho shock, just not RS5000's, RS9000's, etc. So, the shock was the same, just had a different appearance. So, it really doesn't matter if your shocks are painted white or not.

 

No its NOT rancho shocks that came with Fx4 04-06. do a search.

I have FX4 and theres no label rancho and dealership told me too.

I replaced my shocks to bilstein from POS stock shock.
