weird clunk when turning

weird clunk when turning

I have 99 f150 5.4 when i am going around corners at a slow speed i get a werid clunk from the rear of the truck. only happens when turning but still checked my u bolts and drive shaft everythings tight. Just needed some other ideas what it might be thanks

mine did that too. sounds like it's from the rear, but it actually turned out to be the CV joint and the rack&pinion. If it makes noise in a turn it's NOT the back *usually!*

Check your spare and give it an extra click with that tensioning gizmo - that was my rear clunk!

thanks for the replies not the spare thats in the bed gibson exhaust was a bit to big for the spare to say, had the cv looked at about 2 months ago and this was happening before i am going to keep looking thanks for the ideas please keep them comming thanks bear

I had the same clunk too. Sounded like it was from the rear. Turned out to be my sway bar links up front. I replaced the both, problem gone!
