2" Leveling kit?

I have an 05' 4X4 and want to level it out so I can put some bigger tires on. Is a 2" leveling kit worth it, and how is the ride after it is installed? If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

I'd go ahead and get the 2.5 inch kit. There are a ton of post about leveling kits in the 04-05 Forum. Most agree it doesn't affect the ride. The Auto Spring kit is probably the most popular.

Auto Spring Kit

what is the difference between the auto spring kit and the coil over kit, and would there be a big price difference?

The Auto Spring kit is just a metal spacer that bolts onto the top of the stock coilover shock. I sell for around $100.
What kit were you considering? Are you talking about complete replacement coilover shocks?

I had an EZ Lift 2" leveling kit put on my 05 Screw 4x4. It doesn't affect the ride at all and really makes the truck look better in my opinion. I went with the 2" because if I am hauling a trailer I don't want the rear end lower than the front (I don't know if that would really happen but it makes me feel good about myself that I may have actually thought ahead on something.) I got the part off of Ebay for $106.00. Now if only the Nitto Terra Grapplers I want would come off of backorder..........

2" Leveling kit?

I dont know what I want yet, I have just recently started looking into it. I have seen a few brands on line, the only problem is I have no way of putting it on and not to many shops like putting on parts they didn't sell you. I want to keep my stock rims because I had 10 wides on my old truck and I live in Fl, so everyday it would rain, and everyday I had junk thrown all over the side of my old truck. Don't get me wrong its nice to sling mud everywhere when youre off road but not on road. Thats also why I am sticking with 285 70 17s, instead of going 12.5 wide.

2" leveling kit

I Just Put One My 05 Fx4 Super Crewcab. The Front Is Still A Little Lower Than The Back But I Haul A Good Bit And Put My 4-wheeler In The Back So This Is Perfect For Me. It Is Not A Big Difference. The One I Put On Are Made By Tuff Country. The Make Either Plastic Or Aluminum Ones.

I just did the 2'' autospring on my 05 xlt 4x4 and it wasnt hard at all and looks 100x better then before. The ride is the same. basic hand tools plus torque wrench that goes up to 90 ft lbs. 5 lbs sledge hammer, 12'' cresent wrench or 1-1/16 open end wrench and a impact gun was a big help. I`m handicap and with one friend we got it done in 2.5 hrs with a few breaks. Temp was 97 degrees also.

I put the 2.5" Autospring on my truck myself. I had to buy a 30mm deep well socket and an 18" breaker bar...but it was easy. Here's a picture.

I went with the 2 inch Auto Spring lift kit off of e-bay for $106 becuase of the trailer deal and I wanted a steel set up. I am very pleased with mine. My local Off-Road dealer installed the kit for me for $135. I dropped my truck off at 8:30am and they called me by 10am to say it was ready. They wanted 300 bucks for their plastic looking lift kit installed and it only came in the 2.5 version. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would.

Ya I have heard of the Truxxx kits. I am actually looking to do one of those myself according to a couple of local shops they are the best thing out right now for a leveling kit.

Any Opinions???
