Exclamation Lift Kit and Driveability?

Does running a lift kit and/or bigger tires effect power? Will it feel like a dog? What about noise, vibration, etc? I do alot of highway driving, not really off-road just for looks. Have an 04 fx4. What do u recommend? Size, brand, etc? Please help Thanks!

If you go with a really tall tire and don't regear, it will be sluggish. What size do you have in mind?

if you do everything right than it wont be that dogish, of course if you go huge than yes you will notice alittle power loss due to the amount of rotating mass even if you regear but it is not bad, and the wind resistance by being higher off the ground gets worse the higher you go, you will notice this at highway speeds, but you can make a totaly streetable rig even if it is huge

Mine is a regular cab. If it was an extra cab, it might handle differently because of the weight. I have a V6. I am running 37" tires with a 10" lift in the front and 12" in the rear. I added a steering stabilizer and rear anti sway bar. My tires are only 12.5 wide, definitely NOT wide enough. That will make all the difference. I also regeared to 4.56's. It handles great. The ride is a little bumpy and I get pushed around in the wind.

I would prolly go no bigger than a 6" lift and 35's. Is that ok for everyday driving? I have 3.73's, would I have to regear?

6" and 35" tires would be totally drivable, i always recomend regearing as it releaves the stress from the tranny and gets the overall drive ratio back to were it was desined to be, it also helps get lost power back and MPG on the stop and go trafic, it also gets the engine back to the power band it was made to be in each gear, i would recomend 4.56 gears for 35" tires, good luck
