shocks for towing
Looking to upgrade shocks on F150 ex cab 05 5.4 has firestone air bags in rear.
Understand bilstiens are good also here alot about edelbrock IAS. I tow a race car trailer (+- 7000 lb) twice amonth. When not towing I would like a soft smooth ride but would like firmer ride for control when towing. How about Rancho RS9000X adjustible would these be good for a street truck.
Glade I didn't spend thousands more for a 250 smoker, I towed through the sierra's to a race in reno (hwy 395) and set the cruize at 55 and the 5.4 had plenty of power(7000 ft plus), got 12 to 15 mpg average.

With the exception of the 9000's...one shock will not fill both roles. The closests other thing that may live up to your needs are the Monroe Sensa-Trac. The valve changes as the shock gets warm, ie. gets firmer on rougher use. As it cools down it gets soft again.
Actually the 9000's are made by Monroe. Most of the shock body and piston are the same. The only difference is the valves and paint color.
It's amazing how something will get a good or bad name and they are the same thing.
