Front end tick

2002F150Scab4x4
Here we go, another noise question. I'm hearing a noise in the front of my truck almost everytime I put on my brakes, its a tick, a loud tick, its not my brakes, I'm sure of that, but I just can think of anything else it could be. I've been under the truck a dozen times and i'm to the point of taking it in but my pride isn't quite letting me. Any suggestions, things I should trouble shoot. Thanks for your help!!

I would start by driving parallel to some sort of wall and apply the brakes to replicate the sound. With the window down, try both the passenger side and drivers side. By doing this you should be able to narrow down where it is coming from. The noise will reverberate off the wall, and sound louder on the side it is coming from.

hope this helps.....

UPDATE - I figured out what was causing the tick. It was both front brake calipers, the hardware was worn and was clanking around, I bought 2 hardware kits for my truck from Autozone and installed them along with new ceramic brakes. Problem solved.
