Rear Suspension Problem

I have a '96 F-150, 2WD and I have a suspension problem (I know its a problem because most trucks dont produce a sound of springs or metal snapping or being "torqued" loose). With that said, the noise only happens on turns, and it seems as if its being twisted. Ive gotten under there and looked for anything loose, thinking it might have been the spare-tire being bounched around, but nothing. Also, I can push the truck side-ways when its parked and it will make the sound occassionally, just not in the loudness of when its driving. Any hints? Its driving me nuts and I have no idea where to start.

I would start with the leaf springs. Make sure the clamps are nice and tight, and the same goes for the Ubolts. Then spray some silicone lubricant inbetween the leaf springs, especially around the spacers and the clamp. Also make sure the spacers are still there, and not worn down.

Next, I would make sure the driveshaft isnt causing that problem due to Ujoints going bad. You could get under the truck and give the shaft a yank to see if it moves some, But it shouldnt.

Good luck
