Strange Front End Noise

OK folks,I didn't quite know where to post this so here it goes,I have noticed the last 2 times that I have gone to the lake and backed down the boat launch with the jet skis that my wife and myself have heard a noise comeing from the front end only when I am in reverse. It sounds sort of like a gear grinding or a zipper type sound but the only thing is I don't have 4 wheel drive,it's a 2001 supercrew 2 wheel drive.I have checked all the lug nuts on the front wheels and all are tight. It does not make the noise when on level ground and in reverse. It seems that it only does it when towing a load in reverse down an incline. It could possibly wheel bearings but why would it only do this in reverse with a load on an incline.Other than that I have not had any problems with noise from the front end.Any clues???????

It could be your ABS equipped front disc brakes stopping the pickup from sliding down the ramp. when ABS activates, it makes a grinding-type noise. Should be normal operation, mine makes the noise a lot when sliding in the mud, etc.
I hope someone can back this info up, to make sure i got it right.

Thanx Porky,I had not thaught if that and hopefully that it is all it is.I knew I was stumped when I could not duplicate the sound on level ground and while not carrying a load.
