Front and Rear "mini" lift
Front and Rear "mini" lift
Can someone please tell me the best way to lift and '04 F150 Ext. Cab about 2 - 2 1/2" up front and about 1" out back. All of the information that I can obtain would be great. I have seen that many of you are using the Autospring up front. Does anyone have a link? Does the kit come with everything that you need? Do they require an alignment?
As far as blocks in the rear are concerned, does anyone have a brand preference? Whatever kit that you recommend, does it come with all of the hardware? Please help. I have a buddy that is dying to do this to his truck but he has no internet access. You guys would be his heros. Thanks in advance.

I'd go with the Auto Spring up front and a lift block in the rear. Each truck seem to be a little different as far as how much lift a given size Auto Spring lift will give. I'd install it and then decide what size lift block you need in the rear.
I agree with wandell...go with either some sort of spacer in front and do a block or add-a-leaf in the rear.
I know my FX4 had a stock block in the back...not sure what the size is, but say it was a 1" block, then you could replace it with a 2" or whatever you please.

Wandell - where to get the Auto Spring, how much, what's involved?
thx!!
I agree with the Autospring. I bought mine (2 1/2") from "springbender" for 119.00 shipped. It completely leveled my truck. Note that I do have the Westin Sportsman full brush guard up front. It's also an easy at-home job, just mounts on top of the original coil-over.
Take a look at my gallery for more pics.

So then the AutoSpring would be a better set up than say the "Tuff Country"
spacers for the front? Is the AutoSpring a spacer as well? Where can I find SpringBender?
thx

I apologize for the lack of clarity in my last post. I purchased mine from e-bay from Auto-spring, they do business (seller name) as springbender. They ask 119.00 including the shipping.
I can't say that the autospring is "better", it just depends on your preference. The main difference is that autospring, ez-lift and a few others use a metal spacer that bolts on top of the factory coil-over. The tuff-country, daystar and others use a polyeurethane spacer that sits between the top of the spring and the upper mount(requires more work). If you do a search, you can find many, many discussions debating which system is better. I really can't say either way, other than I am extremely satisfied with mine and I installed it in my father's garage using hand-tools.
Good luck, the key is to do some research and decide which one you want on your ride.
