Question Fabtech Lift?????

I just got my 6' Fabtech lift in yesterday, but it came with Pro Comp ES 1000 shocks. I called the guys at 4wheelparts.com and they said it was because i got it on a deal they had. i only paid 1390. So i was wondering are these pro comp shocks better than the Fatech ones that usually come with it, because all i heard is how the Fabtech ones are no good/

lmao, agreed! I had a fabtech lift on my old truck, and you're right those shocks are aweful!!

I'd stick with those rancho shocks while you've got em, but when they wear out i would recommend a good pair of bilstein 5100 or 5150 series shocks. Bilstein makes the best mono tube shock IMO.

A white shock is a white shockl, they all suck. Look for a set of Bilstiens 5100 and the diffrence will be night and day. Stay away from anything white and that means Ranchos's.

Very few of these shocks are made in-house anymore. Most are made overseas. shock companies will buy them up, and do their own valving to them, stamp their part number on them and ship them out. They are all the same

Deal? That was not that big of a deal to justify different shocks. They just didn't have Fabtechs instock. I still have my Fabtechs in the shed - I replaced them with Bilsteins 5100 / 5125.

Since I was running dead Gabriels that were falling apart, before doing the lift, these Fabtech's are like gold to me. I need money for other modifications so I am not getting new shocks now.

At the moment I will consider Edelbrock's or Bilsteins.

And yes I think they were out of stock.

Weird, I thought i've been reading Fabtech was alot better? Maybe just their coilovers? Well, anyhow stick with single pistons. I have some dual piston coilovers on my RX7 and they are noisy and they need to be rebuilt alot sooner. So on a regular shock, single piston will last longer. I couldn't tell you about the brands though but it looks like they all have both single dual and I even saw a triple piston version.
