Levling Kit
Levling Kit
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I have a 98 f150 4x4, only had it for like a month. It is my first 4x4 and I was wondering what exactly does a leveling kit do? abd is it bad to do? also if I did a leveling kit on the front, would I need to do something on the back so that the front isnt higher? any info would be great,
Thanks
Thanks
its not bad at all. it also depends on how high you go. you can go from 1 inch to 2.5. with the big leveling kit you can use bigger lift blocks or add a leafs. i have the 2 inch daystars and like them alot. i paired them with the 3 inch lift spindle
Usually, trucks sit higher in the back then they do up front, which doesnt look to great. Leveling kits jack the front up just a little bit so that it is even with the rear (or you could lower the rear, but most tend to lift the front).
On the '97-'04 heritage 4x4's, there isn't a whole lot out there aftermarket for leveling our trucks, since you can level the truck for free by cranking the torsion bars (you just have to pay for an alignment afterwards, but thats much cheaper than any kit you would buy). Although this does stiffen the ride some.
