Fabtech or Skyjacker

Ok, so I know this probably has been asked before, but which is the better lift kit? I want to do a 6 inch lift and maybe a body lift after that. And if which ever lift I go with, what else should I be expected to purchase?

Thanks for any info!

I think the Fabtech is a little better. If you add a body lift, you will want to get a set of Gap Guards to cover the gap in the wheelwells that the body lift creates. Also, you obviously want a really big tire if you want 9 inches of lift, so plan on regearing also.

I agree

I agree with Wandell.. one of my buddies has a 6 in Fabtech Suspension lift with a performance body lift.. and it looks really big....he's also running 38s on it so if you do get the Lift get some bigger tires

When I bought my lift, SuperLift was the only supplier I could find at that time. I have the Superlift 4.5-5", PA 3" body lift on my 2000 F150: 4.56 ratios and 37x13x16 Boggers.

The SuperLift steering knuckles seem to require that you run a large offset/shallow backspace wheel to get anything wider than a 12.50" on there.

The Fabtech knuckles look like they're "cut back" further, and bigtruck311 is running a 15.50". I'm curious what the backspace and offset of bigtruck311's wheels are.

With my setup and the SuperLift knuckles, the 37x13x16 bogger rubs (well, clunks ) a lot at full lock...I'm probably backing down to a 35-36"x12.50" when the Boggers finally wear out so I don't rattle anyone's fillings out again.

Jack

EDIT: found it!
bigtruck311
i have about an inch with 4.5 of backspacing on 16"-10" rims with the mods below (see bigtruck311's mod list above ^)

I'm thinking I should have waited for the fabtech...first to market does'nt mean best to market.

I'm looking into getting the 6in. Fabtech kit for my truck. It looks a high quality suspension system. What kind of gears will I need for a S-crew with a 5.4 running 35's? Thanks
