2wd Lift

So Im the kinda guy who laughs at someone with a lifted 2x but recently Ive been coming around to the idea of maybe lifting my 02 F150, thinkin like 4" or so. Anyone care to talk me into or tell me why I would bother, considering my lack of 4x. Ay suggestions on how to best and cheaply accomplish this would be welcome too. Thanks all.

While I wouldn't try to talk you into doing it, I could tell you why I'm considering it. My truck (pics in gallery) is my daily driver and does perfectly fine. But having recently bought a 18' Boat and frequent trips to the lake, I wanted to make sure I didn't get stuck trying to pull the boat out; hence my first mod - 3.73LS from the 3.55 Non Limited Slip rear end. Next, for looks and performance needed taking the boat off the paved roads, I opted for the 33x12.5x17 Pro Comp All Terrains and with a 4x2, I have decent clearance though in some spots, I'm liable to rub up since the wheel fills the wheel wells. Hence, the lift to gain some extra clearance, while levelling the truck out for a better look. In the same token, I don't want a 3, 4 or higher lift, just enough to gain a couple of inches. Contemplating on spring extensions or coil spacers at the moment.

In your case, a cheap alternative I initially looked into are some spindle lifts. Not too much modification involved, and a FabTech spindle lift can be had for around $550.00 - $600.00. Ebay had a couple of those for around $399.00 (Buy It Now).
