Question about 2" body lift?

I have heard that 2" body lifts do not have relocation brackets for the rear bumper. Is this true? I could have sworn I saw a truck with a 2" lift and the bumper was sitting in the right spot. If it is true can you custom fab something to make the bumper sit in the right spot? Thanks.

it should be pretty easy to fab up the brackets, or just drill new holes for the bumper to the mounting point

Yeah, all you need to do is drill two new holes in the frame 2 inches higher. Of course, you will not be able to tow with it. You will need a receiver hitch if you don't already have one.

I just installed a 2 inch kit a few weeks ago. You have to remove the 4 studs on the bumper by removing the clips that hold them in place. The you drill two holes on the frame 2 inches above where the bottom ones were before. You won't be able to drill the top holes because you'll run out of space on the frame.

Once you get the holes drilled, run to the hardware store to get 2 new bolts/washers/nuts since you can't reuse the pressed in type you took off. From there, you just install it 2 inches higher. Just remember not to tow with the bumper now, cause you only have 2 bolts holding it on.

Good luck with the lift, it's easily the most time consuming pain in the a** I've ever taken on. Probably about 1,253 small steps that take 5-20 minutes each. It feels like you'll never finish.

Just make sure to saw off the bottom corner on the drivers side radiator shroud. The kit won't tell you to do it, but the shroud hits the tranny cooler lines and won't mount right till you do some creative chopping on it.

Next time I just pay someone to do it.......
