Thumbs up Fabtech on Truck!!! Finally!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the 6" Fabtech kit is awesome. Had it installed with 35's. It sits great. Very tall. I had my torsion bars cranked as well to level the truck before the lift, so the shop added a larger 5" block in the rear, so it sits awesome, about 2" taller than a F150 with just the kit installed. Pics will be coming soon. One question though, I want to correct my speedo, and a buddy of mine was saying I can get a different size speedo gear and it will correct it. I need some info on this please. Thanks.

What year is your truck? Some of the trucks don't use the gear, you can have it reprogramed (some of the microtuners will do this)

I forget what year exactly it was they changed (I want to say '99) but another way to know is if you have the analog odometer, you change that gear. If its later you need to get your truck reprogrammed.

It has the rotary odometer. The truck is a 98. Any ideas what size gear I will need or if you could direct to the right info, that would be great. Thanks.

It can depend on what gear you have in there now. Not all trucks have the same one in them, so you need to go by what is in there now.

Somone else will be able to tell you how many teeth you need on it though (you can also go to a dealer and if they are helpful enough you can figure it out).

Since you have a 98 you can get a new VSS gear to correct the speedo. If you are going to get gears installed then wait until after that is done otherwise you are going to have to buy two diffrant gears. You can buy the gear at Steeda.com you will have to look for it under the Mustang parts. The part number if you are running 35's and 4.56 gears will be 392 STE 17271 J

If you do not do gears then you will need another gear than the one i listed.
