2001 F-150 2wd Lift?
2001 F-150 2wd Lift?
Hey guys, this is my first post in this thread. I have a 2001 F-150 Supercab. Its a 2x4. The problem is i LOVE the look of lifted trucks. I want to make my truck into a Prerunner. I was just wondering what kit you would recomend me getting for my 2x4. I use it mostly for mudding with all my friends. I also take it hunting when its like to have big tires and a lift to get over logs ect. I am lookijng for abuot a 5 - 8" lift, which ever one I can get cheapest, but still strong enougth and have good quality. I am only 17 so my budget is limited, but I do have about $1200 saved just for my lift, tires, ect. What brand do you recomend? Any info is greatly appraciated!
nothing to do with your post SilverBF150, but since we're on the topic of 2x4's, i thought i'd put my question along with yours -
i've got a 2wd 97 f150 with a trailmaster 3 inch suspension lift already. I'm thinking it want to be bigger still, but not have to buy a whole new suspension system. so my question is, can i put one of those "PA" body lifts onto my truck and that would ultimately give me 6 inches of lift?
also, i've heard of having to relocate bumpers and such with body lifts, does the PA kit really come with the correct hardware to make the truck look normal?
anybody with the suspension/body lift kit combo especially with 2wd, can you help me out...thanks!!!
oh yea SilverBF150 - i guess i could reply to your question by saying i know fabtech lift kits are a really good brand, and they do make them for 2WD trucks, so try and check that out, other comments will certainly be more valuable than mine though!

I have a 2wd with a 5in lift in front and 4 in back. It consists of a 3.5in fabtech spindle and a 1.5in coil spacer for the front, and a 2in block and about a 2in add-a-leaf in the rear.
If you want more than that you could get a 2 or 3in body lift, or get longer coils for the front and a larger 3 or 4in block in the back.
Fabtech makes a 7.5in lift for our 2wd's and there's many more out there.

Try doing a search on the PA body lifts, from what Ive heard they are really good body lifts and include your relocation brackets for the bumpers, but make sure when you order! And you shouldnt have a problem with the suspension and body lift combo, but you may want to get longer shocks if you still have the stocks.

1200 will not get you very far for a complete lift.
Wheels: 60-100 bucks each (cheap ones)
Tires: 160-210 bucks each (all terrains)
7.5 Fabtech lift: 1200 bucks
3.5 Fabtech lift kit with lift spindles 600? bucks (indludes shocks, 1.5 inch lift block for rear and new rear shocks)
Just the lift spindles: 300 Bucks (This can work if you like the rear a little lower than the front and you do Not need new shocks with lift spindles)

Yea sk8inrj1 is right on for the price.
600 bucks for my spindle, blocks, and shocks, (also add a cam alignment bolts and new longer Ubolts for block) for about a total of 700-750 dollars. Add another 60 bucks for add a leaf and 50-75 dollars for a coil spacer.
Then you got to pay to get it installed, unless you do it yourself. I did, with someone there to help, not too hard but also not that easy either.
