good old torsion bar question

I know I have seen many post on here about torsion bars. I am going to ask a question that has probably been asked a ton. But I am going to ask so that I know. I have add a leafs on my truck that make the rear end sit a little higher. I would like to lift the front maybe and inch or 2 so that it is all level. Where are my torision bars. Which way raises the front end right or left? Does the truck need to be jacked up to do it. How much will it really raise it? Thanks Dudes. I will have pics of my truck up soon. You guys will drool.

mine is a 01 and they are the long rods that run along the bottom of the truck which are connected to the a-arms. to crank them follow the bars to the center of truck. there should be a bolt on each side that is pointing to where you see the head of the bolt. then crank away. its easy. i recommend jacking the front of the truck with a jack to get the pressure off the tire while you crank em. but its not nessacery i guess. good luck

Thanks for the info. I don't really have to do it but i like the truck to look level. How many revolutions will it take before there is any notice. I already have a 5 inch suspension lift on it if that matters. Just want to get the nose up a little. Don't think I will be doing it any time soon since it is cold enough to freeze the ***** off of a brass monkey here.

heck, i didn't see that you are from columbus. Been down there many times. It is way to cold in Indiana right now for my to go rolling around on the ground in the snow under my truck. How about those colts?

yep. they got beat. like to see them win super bowl. but not this year. even if they did beat the patriots i dont see them beatin the steelers. ohwell. yeah its very cold. i need to check my coil boots and i'll be dam if im doing this week. i just seen on the news that it is supposed to be in the lowers 40's this week so that sounds like the perfect time before it snows again. i can handle 40 not 5 degrees. the truck can sit!!! lol. alomost forgot... i'd trun it 3 or 4 COMPLETE revolutions. i d like to have an add a leaf for my truck. now my front sits higher than my back. but not by much if you look at in on level ground. but they arent crank all the way. ive been to muncie a few times. up to ball state . if you know what i mean. haha
