Banging when making tight turns

Hey guys im not a suspension expert and i have some concerns with my 1986 F-150 4X4.

1. When i make sharp turns there is a banging noise comming from the front suspension. Is this U-Joints going bad? How do i tell which U-Joints to replace, there are quite a few on this truck.

2. What can i do to beef up the front end suspension wise so plowing this winter wont be so hard on the truck.

Thanks Ryan

Try inspecting your tie-rods. I've read on this site that a poping sound from the front end while turing is usually tie-rods. Could also be ball joints?
