2-3" suspension lifts

Does anyone know if a company makes a 2 or 3 inch suspension lift for an 2002 f150 supercrew 4x4? Please be sure to add the link.

The kits I have seen are 4" kits. For something that small get a add-a-leaf for the rear and crank up the torsion bars in the front. That will give you 2" in back and about 1.5" up front.

Right. Just crank up the torsion bars to lift the front and use an add a leaf or taller lift block in the rear.

Wandell, What kind of body lift do you recommend. I have been going back and forth on a body lift or a suspension lift. I am looking to add 3" to my f150 2002 2wd XLT.

If anyone has any pics of just a 3" body lift it would be greatly appriciated. I want to see what one looks like!

anyone know if there any drawbacks with adding a body lift?

Go with the Performance Accessories kit. It is the most complete kit on the market. It includes everything you need to complete the lift including front and rear bumper relocation brackets, steering extension etc. A 3 inch body lift will put your 4x2 at about the same height as a stock 4x4. Also, welcome to the site.

wandell,
did you install the body lift yourself? i dont trust myself to do the work. i called local shops and they wanted 600.00 for labor. does that sound right?

That sounds a little high. I've heard of people getting estimates form $100 to $700. It takes a good bit of time to do the installation.

I received a Quote for a 3.5" spindal lift with 2" blocks in the rear for 850 for everything! Is that good?

OK, I have a 2003 Fx4 Expedition. It is a good 4wd, but compared to my old Suburban (94 K1500), it gets stuck due to lack of clearance. As soon as the wheels dig in, the skid plates are on the sand.

Daystar makes a 2" coil spacer lift (front and rear). The shop says I'll need new shocks as well, and they recommend Rancho RS5000 soft ride. $650 with labor. Am I going to regret doing this, when most of my driving is on road? Any other recommendations?

I use the truck at beach or ranch about twice a month, and have 4 kids, friends, and wife to haul.

The Daystar lift, along with other similar coil spring spacers, are the only lifts available for the 03-05 Expys. The 03-05 Expys use a coilover shock design, like the 04-05 F-150's. The new Expys also have independant rear suspension with a coilover shock. You don't need new shocks for this lift. Your mechanic is probably thing about the 97-02 Expys. But even then, you would not need new shocks.

The reason he gives for the new shocks is that they would be fully extended at rest. When the truck reaches a dip in the road, the shock would not extend further, and the truck would drop into the dip. He says I need new shocks that are 2" longer.

Make sense?

I understand his thinking, but he is wrong. That is the reason the spacers are designed to give only 2.5 inches of lift. They could make a larger spacer that would give more lift, but the suspension would be topped out, just as your man is talking about. You don't have to take my word on this. You can contact the manufacturers directly and ask them about this. Also, look in the 2004-2005 F-150 forum. The new F-150's have the same front suspension as your Expy. A large number of members here have installed these spacer lifts on there new F-150's with good results.
