as you all know about the tie rods going out i got my letter today so i guess when i take it in for the next oil change i will have them look at them i poped up the boots and didnt see any water and they move freely so maybe ther ok for now but i guess i will change them later if anybody has had them changed by ford did they put on ones in that you can grease (2002 f150screw 5.4)thank 72 mustang

 

WHAT LETTER ? IS THERE A RECALL ON BLL JOINTS, I HAVE THE SAME TRUCK BUT I DIDN'T GET A LETTER. JUST WONDERING IF I SHOULD CALL THE DEALER.

It is not a recall just a update in the inspection procedure.
I called Ford Customer Service and they said you would do normal service intervals and if there was a problem it would be fixed. The cost would be footed by yourself unless you have a warranty

Ok here's what I was told at my Ford Dealer...Anytime your rig is in for reg. service the ford tec. will check these parts and if their is a problem you will be told about it..My warranty is gone on my Lariat, so I would have to pay if it needs to be repaired...If you have warranty they will repair it free...

So far still good..
