3" body lift on a 6 cyl?

hello ya'll,

i have a 2000 ext cab 4.2 v6 that i want to place a 3" lift on it. i want to keep the factory rims and go with a 275 75 R16 tire. will the lift put additional strain on my tranny? its a 5 speed. do i have to worry about over stressing the motor? im new to this type of mods. i dont want to mess up. any feedback is appreciated.

thanks

Body Lift just lifts the body, so no extra stress and leaves your drivetrain as it was from the factory. only difference might be a slight increase in wind resistance.
of course when you start adding the larger tires you will notice a drop in performance, but it all depends on how big you go, and what you do to offset it.

The body lift itself will not put any stress on the driveline, but the addition of larger tires most definetly will. I had problems with that and my old transmission which is why the new truck won't have large tires on it ever. You can avoid that by regearing your truck to match the larger tires which will relieve the stress on the driveline.

dang 300 bucks is a sweet price..just got mine back today and it was 505 down here and that was cheap for here. i personally like the height of the shifter now (i didnt add an ext.) it feels more comfortable. as for the tires you shouldnt feel much a diff only going to a 275 thats only like a +2. if you go larger REGEAR as powerstroke said...i got 315's and it is i n the shop as i type being regeared.....i cant wait to drive it. good luck
