How much to tighten down shock heads

I put on a set of Ranchos this weekend but not sure how tight the nuts on the shock head should be. I could squish down on those rubber bushings but I figure that'd be too tight.

I put the nuts on so they seem just about right but there was no installation info about how much tight they really need to be.

Thanks

Mark

Squish the rubber until it expands to the size of the metal washer on top and bottom. Put Bilsteins on my truck yesterday. The original stock shocks were really bad. I could compress them by hand and some did not return from compressed position. I guess 61K miles was too much for them.

Where did you get the Bilsteins? I want some for my Expedition. At 75k miles the original shocks are allowing the truck to bounce a few times going over highway bumps.
