Question Replacing OE Shocks

The OE shocks on my 2WD 2002 Screw have 35K miles. No real problems but would like to replace them. I drive primarily on the road and would like to improve handling and ride if possible.
Can anyone recommend without spending an alot?

Thanks

Don't buy shocks based on price. Bilsteins or Rancho RS9000s if you like to adjust.
