Anyone ever needed to replace them? How many miles do you have on your RS9000 or RS9000x shocks?
I installed RS9000's on my 99 F-150 around 40k miles and sold the truck at 69k miles. Their performance was constant over the 30k I had them. About the only nit-pick I had was I wanted a setting between 2 and 3 for the rear. The RS9000x now has that.
A friend of mine is considering new shocks. He has narrowed his list down to RS9000x and a Bilstein model. I appreciated the adjustability I had, but cannot recalled hearing anything bad about the Bilstein either. I generally recommend Bilstein, Edlecrock IAS, and RS9000x as most people are happy either any of those choices. Picking between the three for me comes down to price and usefulness of the adjustablity.

FWIW, I have had the IAS for about 75,000 miles, and I feel they have lost a bit of their damping. Loss of performance probably started around 60,000 miles. I get noticeably more body roll on cornering now than when they were new (but they are still vastly better overall than my stocker shocks were).
IMO, good shocks are a very important mod, and they should last a long time at the price you have to pay. I'm not surprised the Edelbrocks have lost alittle over the last 5 years, but I think I'll try something else next time.

I think, for the most part this is one item that you get what you pay for. The cheap Bilteins that came stock on my '00 Blazer and my dad's 99 Tacoma sucked. I hated them both. But I have heard a lot of people that swear by them. I think if you get the expensive ones your probably alright. Same thing with Rancho. If you go with the 9000 you'll be happy, but if you go with the 5000, you'll be sorry. Even though they're still better than stock in most cases.
