sagging front end

Hi there! I have a 97 4x4 supercab Lariat. The front end is definately lower than when I bought it. Question....will new shocks (ranchos or other) help this, or am I going to have to shell out for new torsion bars? Any thoughts? thanks p.s. The truck has a good ride....maybe could use new shocks, I'd rather not crank the torsion bars (loss of negative travel)

Replacing the shocks on a 97 model is probably a good idea, but it will have no affect on your ride height as they do not support the vehicles weight. The torsion bars and leaf springs do that. I would try cranking up the torsion bars before I bought new ones. You mention that you are afraid of loosing down travel in your suspension, but if the front end is riding too low you have lost up travel.

Thanks Wandell! I took a good look under all the rust, and I'm going to crank up the torsion bars tomorrow. Do you know what a "levelling" kit does? Does it lower your torsion bar mounts to raise the vehicle height ? Thaanks.....nice truck by the way
