front end leveling contd'
speaking of that, i still dont knowt he specific steps to doing this. such as...where is the proper place to jack the truck up?
...are you talking about the large bolts up front that the torsion bars are close to?
...i know i sound stupid, but maybe a picture and a detailed instruction would help. i just dont want to mess anything up. if you could do this...i would be much appreciated. thanks a bunch!

Front End Leveling Cont'd...
What year are you trying to level? I just leveled my 2004 FX4, and it looks pretty damn good. Let me know if you are doing a 2004, and I can post some pics for ya.
As for the lifting, I lifted each individually. I put the jack off centered ( toward the side I wanted to jack) on the crossbar. I used a lift kit from "Protech EZ-Lift", which consists of 2 pieces of CNC machined aluminum. After jacking it, you remove the bolt and nut at the knuckle, and the nut for the tie rod. The lower control arm should be pretty much loose now. Then take off the 3 nuts that hold the strut on top ( these are located on top of the strut tower)... but DO NOT remove the shock bolt ( the dead middle one)!!! Now just remove the whole strut assembly. You will need a strut compressor now. Compress the spring enough to take the tention off the strut assembly cap. After this, remove the shock retaining nut, and pull out the assembly apart. Remove the OEM plastic dust cap from the assembly, and throw it away... won't fit back in. Put the rubber dust cap over the new spacers, and put it all back together in reverse order, and repeat for the other side. I have added the link to Protech's site, where they have some pics of the 2004 F-150 install. Hope these help!!!

Sounds like you're trying to level something with torsion bars. Keep in mind that this refers to 97-03 F150 4x4 only. Jack up the truck by the front axle drop crossmember. Then follow the torsion bars back to the crossmember about half way under the cab. There is one bolt on either side. Tighten it to raise it, loosen to lower. If you use the search function you'll find this has been discussed only about a million times, some with pictures. I've got a picture showing it, but I don't feel like digging out the link right now.
yeah sorry about that. i have a 2001 SCREW. when you say crossmember, do you mean the one by the front enf or the one under the middle of the cab your talking about. i'll probably have to go under and look more detailed, but it really isnt all that hard is it? and whatever you crank on one side you do the exact same to the other?
if you have the offroad package, you can jack it up by the cross member right behing the front skid plate, and it is right behind.
if not,it is the one that the a arms are connected to.just look under the front of the truck and follow the a arms up.the bolts you need to turn are the ones at the back of the torsion bars.if you look at em you can see how they work.just follow the torsion bars back as far as they go and there will be a bolt sticking out of a wedge shaped piece of steel the is slid over the end of the torsion bars that hold tension on the torsion bar crossmember just check the ride height with a tape measure or something after you bounce the front end or drive it a little and make sure its right
and yes you have to do it to both sides or your truck will sit lop sided
