Here's one - I have a 02 F150 FX4. If I turn the wheel at a stop all the way to one direction and then press lightly on the accelerator, a series of pops come from the front end. The harder I accelerate, the louder the pops. Could it be the CV joints?

 

do you have a lift on your truck? or oversized tires?

I had a ford exploder with a similiar sound from the front and a very slight lurch at full turn. It turned out to be the cv joints, so I would say that is a possiblity. Mine did it worse in 4 wheel also.
