Shock decision
I have a 1994 ford f150 with ORIGINAL shocks scary i know! They recently started leaking fluid and now my truck bounces like a trapoline, Anyways i am looking at either getting the monroe sensa-trac's or the rancho rs5000 i am looking for kind of a stiffer ride since i am not to picky about road comfort any information on which shock i should invest in will be appreciated thanxs.
id go rancho. just put a set of the rs5000s in my buddies GMC Jimmy. firm, responsive ride. Recently put a set of the 9000's in my truck. same great ride, with the adjustability for towing and long highway drives.

I also found that some of the chain stores aren't showing the sale at all or just the 9000's. I had to push the issue with the store I purchased from before he finally agreed that the RSX's were on sale also. One other store I tried flat out denied that Rancho was having any sale because it didn't show up on his computer and he refused to do any checking.
Russ (love my RSX's btw)
Thanks guys for all your advice looks like ill go with the rancho's. I'll have to print out the promotion that rancho is offering so i don't encounter jacka**'s who don't want to give me the buy 3 get one free deal. Thanks again.

I had the 9000's in the passed and have 1 tip. I'm in MN with a lot of salt on the roads in the winter. The dial froze up the first year. When you get them remove the adjuster assembly (2 small allen screws). Put a coating of grease under the assembly so the water and grime doesn't get inside. The button in the shock that the dial pushes in and out rusted solid on mine. The grease helped.
Does anybody know where else to get these shops at sams prices? I live in Oklahoma and would be stuck with the sales tax, about another 20 dollars. I've searched the web and it sure seems like they have the DEAL.

I don't know what Bilsteins I have, but I love 'em. They give a nice ride and keep the tires on the pavement.
I can't compare the ride Bilstein and Rancho shocks give, but I know I'd buy a set of Bilsteins again (won't have to for this truck however because of warranty).
Bilsteins get my vote!

Taken off of Bilsteins website: Conventional shocks slowly lose efficiency and eventually fail over a period of time causing excessive tire and suspension wear. Bilstein Shocks continue to deliver optimum performance for life.
Of all your suspension components, nothing works harder than your shock absorbers, making it critical you pick the right ones for your vehicle. Bilstein Gas Pressure Shock Absorbers are the least expensive, fastest way to dramatically improve the ride, handling and control of your vehicle. Plus, with Bilstein's lifetime warranty, you may never have to purchase shock absorbers again.
