New shocks, how tight?
I just installed my Rancho RSX's. They are AWESOME.
2001 Super Crew 2wd
Question: on the fronts, how tight should the nut on the top of the shock be?
As tight as I can humanly get it ?
I ask becasue right now I have them as tight as I can get them and one side has about 4 threads showing and the other has 1 thread showing.
How squished should the bushing be ?
Thanks. Patrick

"Snug" should probably do it for tightness as opposed to "reefing the hell out of it." As to having more threads showing on one side, you might want to make sure your rubber bushings are centered in the hole. Loosen the nut, move the shock back and forth until the bushings seat, then re-tighten. That should do it. Another possibility is that some shocks have different upper and lower bushings. If you put 2 lowers on one side and 2 uppers on the other, you could get a similar effect.

I tightened mine down until the bushings just started to 'squash' if that makes any sense. Surprising that Texas says that only one thread was showing. I got enough showing to put that plastic clip that holds the wheel sensor wire back on top.
About the driver side rear (actually all four corners), there is a nut built onto the top of the shock body itself which is 13mm(I think). I was able to get a wrench onto that nut and then use a wrench on the top nut. Took a little while but wasn't too bad.
