Lifted trucks

I have a 7.5" Fabtech lift kit on my truck right now and just ordered a P/A 3" body lift kit, and was wondering if any of you out there have noticed any or no difference in the way the truck handles as far as the truck being at a higher center of gravity, has anyone had any problems as far as a speed issue and corners and such, thanks in advance.

Thanks Mike

HAHA!! yeah i have noticed. I have the same lift on my truck. It's because your truck is 2wd. any lift you put on your truck will react the same as the fabtech. The dipping in the corners is nothing to worry about, your suspension is meant to handle the corners like that. The coils on the 2wd lifts are made softer than 4wd because of the way 2wds are usually driven off-road. Your suspension is designed to handle dips and bumps at high speeds so fabtech made the coil softer for a smoother ride. In turn, when you truck is cornering i.e. shifting all its weight to one side, your coils compress causing the truck to lean to one side. It really doesnt effect your center or gravity too much because the 7 1/2 kit widens your tire stance about 2.5 inches from stock. You could have lost top speed for many reasons... 1. your truck is hauling round a hell of a lot more weight causing lag at take off and reduced top speed. 2. Do you have after market gearing? If you do have after market gears, you lose lots of top speed, if you dont.. good luck taking off from the light. Hope I helped. One more suggestion though.. get rid of the stock fabtech shocks!!! If you havent already, you will blow out your shocks shortly, even if you are just driving down the street. i blew mine going over a speed bump. I'd suggest putting Bilstien 5100 or 5150 series shocks on it. You can buy them at 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers and they should only run you about 65-70 bucks a shock. Well worth the money believe me!!!.
